According to a report by Android Central on Friday, during Alphabet’s earnings call this week, Chief Business Officer Philipp Schindler stated that Gemini may feature advertising in the future.
The chief business officer revealed at the meeting: “We need to be clear that advertising has always been an important means of scaling products and reaching billions of users. When executed properly, advertising can be very valuable and can provide truly useful business information.”
Tech Free Press, citing Android Central, reports that a Google executive’s statement about “potentially appearing ads” indicates the company’s firm commitment. Furthermore, OpenAI is already running ads for ChatGPT.
He also mentioned that Google is still preparing: ” We will announce the plan at the appropriate time, but we will not rush into anything.” If the testing goes smoothly, ads may appear on the Gemini mobile app.
In fact, as early as last December, there were rumors that Google was having a conference call with advertising providers, with the expectation of introducing advertising to Gemini in 2026.
