On the eve of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), Baidu announced today that its Chinese autonomous driving mobility service platform, Luobo Express, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Kazakhstani company Turlov Private Holding Ltd. (TPH) in Shanghai. This marks the first time that Chinese autonomous vehicles have entered the Central Asian market .
According to Baidu, as of May this year, Luobo Express has been launched in 27 cities around the world, covering multiple overseas regions such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and has completed more than 22 million services.
According to a Tech free press report on June 16th, Carrot Express has obtained a Level 4 autonomous taxi operation permit in Switzerland , covering an area of 80 square kilometers in eastern Switzerland, involving the three cantons of St. Gallen, Appenzell Transylvania, and Appenzell Inner Switzerland. Road tests began on June 1st.
In addition, AmiGo will use Baidu’s sixth-generation autonomous driving vehicle, the Apollo RT6, which was first released in 2022. It is all-electric and can carry up to three passengers.
Baidu’s Carrot Express has previously established strategic partnerships with several international companies to expand into the global market. In July 2025, Carrot Express entered into a strategic partnership with global mobility platform Uber, planning to deploy its sixth-generation self-driving cars in Asia and the Middle East, and gradually expand to more markets globally.
Before entering Kazakhstan, Carrot Express had already made large-scale deployments in the Middle East. In March 2025, Carrot Express announced a partnership with the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to deploy more than 1,000 fully driverless vehicles in Dubai and to collaborate with Autogo in Abu Dhabi to create the largest fleet of driverless vehicles in the country.
In January 2026, Black Sesame Technologies signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Carrot Express. Black Sesame Technologies will serve as the computing chip technology support unit for Carrot Express’s product development within the scope of cooperation, and the two parties will jointly build an autonomous driving ecosystem.
