Italian tire manufacturer Pirelli signed a cooperation agreement with Swedish company Univorses on Wednesday, acquiring a 30% stake and having the option to increase its stake to a majority controlling interest. The aim is to integrate artificial intelligence computer vision technology into its Cyber Tyre system.
This collaboration combines Univorses’ 3D AI technology with Pirelli’s sensor-equipped tire system, which can improve vehicle safety and autonomous driving capabilities, as well as provide traffic management departments with real-time road infrastructure monitoring data.
